How to win a launch bracket (without gaming the vote)

Lirkaff runs as a single-elimination bracket: submit, get seeded, and face one opponent at a time until someone is left standing. Because it is head-to-head, the tactics differ from a leaderboard where you fight the whole field at once. Here is how to actually win — the honest way, because manipulating the vote gets you removed.

Win the pitch before you win the vote

In a 1v1 matchup, a voter sees exactly two products and picks one. That means your tagline is doing most of the work. Say what the product does and who it is for in one line a stranger can parse in three seconds. Vague aspiration loses to concrete clarity almost every time.

Your screenshot is the other half. Show the product doing its job, not a logo on a gradient. The matchup card is small; make the one image count.

Bring your own audience — that is not cheating

Rallying real people who genuinely like your product to come vote is the intended game. Post your matchup link to your email list, your community, your social following. A launch is a coordination event; coordinating is the skill.

What is not allowed: bot votes, vote-buying, or fake accounts. We rate-limit and watch for it, and it is grounds for disqualification. The difference is simple — real humans making a real choice versus manufactured numbers.

Show up for every round

The bracket advances on a schedule. Each matchup closes at a set time, and votes reset between rounds — a blowout in the quarterfinal does not carry into the semifinal. Treat every round as its own sprint and re-rally your audience each time.

Momentum is real: makers who post consistently through the bracket tend to outperform a single big push on day one. Consistency beats a spike.
